Senior Accountant Department: Mission Edge - Finance / Accounting

Compensation: $80,000 - $90,000 / year

Since 2012 we've helped more than 500 organizations become stronger, more sustainable, and more impactful through HR, accounting, and fiscal sponsorship. Our fiscal sponsorship practice is our fastest-growing line of business, and we're hiring a Senior Accountant to grow with it.

What you'll do - Full-cycle accounting for a portfolio of fiscally sponsored programs - from journal entries and reconciliations to month-end close
- Prepare accurate, timely financial statements and reporting for internal leadership and the programs we support
- Manage accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger activity with a sharp eye for accuracy
- Track restricted and unrestricted funds and help ensure grant and donor compliance
- Support budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and year-end audit preparation
- Spot process improvements and help us build cleaner, faster ways to work as we scale
What you bring - 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in a fast-growing or high-volume environment
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Strong grasp of GAAP and full-cycle accounting
- Comfort with accounting software and strong Excel skills
- Sharp attention to detail, strong organization, and the judgment to prioritize when a lot is moving at once
- Clear, honest communication - you share what you see early and often
Not required, but a plus: nonprofit or fund accounting experience, familiarity with fiscal sponsorship, or a CPA. If you've got general accounting chops and the drive to grow, we want to hear from you - we'll teach you the nonprofit side.
