What We’re Looking For:
Ability to weld pipe ranging from 1/2" to 36" in diameter in all positions
Ability to pass a welding test in the fixed 6G position
Ability to operate a high-frequency amperage control foot pedal while welding
Ability to weld structural steel in all positions
Ability to identify the correct filler wire for a given base metal
Ability to interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols
Ability to calculate pipe fitting take-outs and piping measurements
Ability to meet the physical demands of welding in all positions and operating a foot pedal while welding
What You’ll Do as a TIG Welder:
Weld pipe ranging from 1/2" to 36" in diameter in all positions
Perform GTA welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, and duplex stainless steel
Weld structural steel in all positions
Operate a high-frequency amperage control foot pedal during welding operations
Select the appropriate filler wire based on the base metal being welded
Ensure all welds meet ASME pressure vessel and piping code requirements
Prepare pipe fittings and pipe ends for full-penetration welds on pipe assemblies
Interpret fabrication drawings and welding symbols for piping assemblies and skids
Calculate pipe fitting take-outs and piping measurements
